What operators actually ask for

Since June 2026 we have recorded 12 Challenger vacancies across 8 operators. 7 of them stated a minimum total flight time: a median of 1,500 hours, ranging from 500 to 3,000. The other 5 gave no figure at all — which is why a job below carries an hours badge only when the ad states one.

On the type rating, 5 of those ads were explicit: 5 asked for one already held, and 0 either did not require it, listed it as desirable only, or funded it. That second group is the one worth reading first if you do not hold the type — see jobs with no type rating required.
