What operators actually ask for
Since June 2026 we have recorded 31 captain vacancies in Germany across 12 operators. 14 of them stated a minimum total flight time: a median of 3,000 hours, ranging from 1,500 to 5,000. The other 17 gave no figure at all — which is why a job below carries an hours badge only when the ad states one.
On the type rating, 8 of those ads were explicit: 4 asked for one already held, and 4 either did not require it, listed it as desirable only, or funded it. That second group is the one worth reading first if you do not hold the type — see jobs with no type rating required.
